Although Sajak concluded his iconic four-decade run as the show's host on June 7, the 77-year-old is stepping out of his short-lived retirement to host the upcoming season of the game show's celebrity edition this fall as confirmed by TVLine.ABC announced his return in their fall primetime schedule rollout on Wednesday, July 10.
Reflecting on his tenure over the past 40 seasons, Sajak noted the show's impact beyond entertainment: "It's been a place where kids learned their letters, where people from other countries honed their English skills, where families came together along with friends and neighbors and entire generations.
What an honor to have played even a small part in all of that. Thank you for allowing me into your lives."
